What is the best tooth whitening procedure that you would get from a dentist?

Dentist wants me to pay $1100 for her recommended procedure. Mean ol' money-grubbin' … Feh, I'm just cheap. Insurance won't cover it, but I want to get it done professionally.

That sounds quite expensive, but it depends where you live too. I think the best option is to do the in office procedure first and have the take home trays and gel to touch up.
The office I work at offers both for a total of $360. I think that is pretty reasonable.
Pretty much all in office procedures are the same (Britesmile, Zoom, etc.) they all have the same end result. When you also have the trays to take home you can also bump up the whitening of your teeth to a lighter shade, in less time. (compared to just the trays alone)
Personally I wouldn't pay $1100. Try the Crest strips first, they may not get your teeth as white as the dentists procedure, but they may get them white enough for you!

I have tried Crest Whitestrips and a professional kit from my dentist, both hurt my teeth, made me want to scream actually!
Anybody else had this problem?

i have the same problem with those products. although they do work charmingly, they leave my teeth even more sensitive than before.

now i stick to aquafresh multiaction whitening… works the best while preventing cavities.

be careful when buying because, aquafresh has 3 lines of whitening toothpastes and the other ones gave me cold sores. i've been using multiaction whitening for 5 years now and people think i whiten my teeth professionally!

don't forget to get aquafresh whitening floss too and floss daily!

What is the BEST tooth whitening gel to use at home?

I already have custom trays fitted for my teeth, but I am in search of a really good high-end gel ( not junk like crest whitestrips) I want my teeth to be hollywood white…like so white they are blinding!

Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions for gels, but crest whitestrips premium are surprisingly effective! I did two rounds of whitening with them (10 days, waited 6 months, and then another ten days) and I am always getting comments and compliments about my teeth.

If you want something that will definitely work (ie. "Hollywood" white) without shelling out too much, I would suggest you see your dentist about Zoom whitening. It's a quick, longlasting process that is super effective and costs around $500.

What is the best tooth whitening product out there?

I just got my braces off and now I want my teeth to be white. What product works the best? I already tried toothpastes and mouthwashes but they don't work that much.
By the way, would it be safe to use whitening products and then wear my retainer? My retainer is one of the clear plastic "invisible" ones, and I have to wear it all the time, except when I brush my teeth, eat, or play sports.

Aside from going to the denist and getting them profesionally whitened, the best thing I've used is the aquafresh whitening trays. You actually see results within a few days and I've tried a lot of different products.
