Glastonbury Dentist: How to Eat When You Have Dental Implants
The time after getting dental implants can really be like a nightmare to many patients. Not only do they have to deal with the discomfort and the pain, but there is also the hunger issue to face. When the drugs wear off, it can be quite normal to feel extremely ravenous, but our Glastonbury dentist wants us to remember that the diet of a dental implant patient may be very limited as of the moment. So, how does one go back to eating normally, or semi-normally right after the surgery? Here is what our Glastonbury dentist has to say. Incidentally, these are what the Glastonbury dentists tell all their dental implant patients.
1. Start with food that is liquid, semi-liquid and food that is guaranteed to be soft- Your best bets for eating healthily, filling up and not hurting your newly installed implants are consuming soups, purees and puddings. Cereals may be eaten as long as they become soggy due to the milk. Having cereal will fix your craving for solid food.
2. The temperature of the food is another thing to watch- Patients who have just undergone dental implant surgery cannot have anything that is too hot. Therefore, should you have soups and the like, it is better to make sure that they are lukewarm, or even cold. Remember also that you may also not be able to gauge the temperature of the food properly, so always have someone else taste them before you do!
3. When you feel like you are ready to have solids, pay attention to their size. Eventually, you can have solid food, just as long as you cut them into very tiny pieces. This is so that your new implants won’t have a hard time with them.
It can be painful to undergo this sort of food limitation, but do remember that you are doing this for the good for your dental implants. You want to make sure that they stay put inside your mouth!
Kauai Dentist:: Post Dental Implant Surgery Advice
It can be nerve wracking to have to undergo dental implant surgery, but don’t worry, our Kauai dentists have done so many that they are such experts in the field. Before you get too cocky though or too overconfident or vice versa, our Kauai dentist would like to know if you have prepared for after the surgery. Our Kauai dentist would just like to make sure that you know what to do. With that said, here are some direct reminders for him, so that all post dental implant patients are guided accordingly.
- Avoid taking in food that is too hot right after surgery and days or even weeks after it too- While your natural inclination may be to eat warm, soothing soups to ease the discomfort that you may have post operation
Be reminded that hot food may severely affect your surgical wounds. Hot pieces of food may open up your wound, the stitches and cause it to bleed again which would kinda be disgusting. Uncontrolled bleeding may lead to something more serious, and you may have to go back to the dentist!
- Hard food should be avoided at all costs- For obvious reasons, anything that is too hard and crunchy will prove to be extremely damaging for your implants, and too dangerous for them especially the first few days. Patients have to understand that implants need time to anchor themselves to one’s gums in the mouth. While they are just put in, they are not at their strongest, with hardly any support. Hard food can therefore cause breakages in them.
- Food with high acid content is also a no!-Trivia: different kinds of acids are corrosive enough and can eat through the metal in your implants, especially within the the first few months. Another interesting fact is that many things that we like to snack on everyday actually contain these corrosive acids. To save your implants. refrain from eating lemons and other food with citrus ingredients. Vinegar is another form of acidic food that is to be avoided.
These restrictions are not to be imposed for the rest of your life, so there is definitely no need to worry. If you take note of these reminders, your implants will have a better chance of success!

Richmond Dentist Tips
The sad reality is not everyone is born with a perfect smile. Most of us have to go through different lengths to get it. We are happy to report that like the many patients of our Richmond dentist, we’ve gotten our almost perfect smiles through cosmetic dentistry. This is what the Richmond dentists are really known for! Our Richmond dentist transformed our teeth and ultimately our smile. He’s great at giving our cosmetic dentistry tips too! Here are a few helpful ones that I always take not of and remember:
1. Make wise food choices- What we eat really has a great effect on the state of our implants. Since I’ve gotten them, I’ve seen to it that everything I put in my mouth will not damage them. I’ve made it a point to stay away from anything too sticky. Gum is now a no no for me. Another thing that I try to avoid are foods that may break my implants. I’ve had to say goodbye to rock candy and hard foods like that.
2. Never forget to brush your teeth AND implants- I didn’t think that implants would need brushing like regular teeth, but it turns out that they do! If I want to maintain how nice my implants look, then brushing is really a must. I brush my teeth along with my implants 2 to 3 times a day, or generally after a big meal.
3. Another thing that I’ve done to ensure the state of my implants is get those special brushes that are used to clean behind and below the artificial implants. Since my dental office stocks them, I don’t really worry about where to shop for them. I’ve heard from friends that they are also available online and in dental specialty stores.
I love my implants and do not regret my decision at all! It was the right move for me to get them! I definitely feel more confident and self assured. I know my smile looks more bright, more dazzling and ultimately better! I really have my Richmond dentist to thank for all of this! He really worked wonders on my smile!
Richmond Dentist: Tips in Selecting a Dentist
A lot of people don’t even know the proper ways to pick out a good dentist! This is probably the reason why many patients report to being unhappy with their dentists! - Training- it is important that you take a look at your dentist’s educational background and training. You can ask your dentist questions about his background, you may also do your research on him or her online.
- Is your dentist part of dental associations?- The most well known dental association in the country is the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Associations are good because they don’t take anybody in. Rather, they look at each dentist’s excellence in his work and practice. You will probably be more confident if your dentist were admitted to these associations.
- Payment options offered- Different dentists will have different payment options. Now, this is important to note because some procedures, especially cosmetic ones, will not be covered by your insurance. You will have to pay for them yourself.
